Every pond is different. Our construction process is tailored to the site, design, construction method and intended use of the pond. Follow a typical Pondscapes project from initial planning through to commissioning and completion.
1. Consultation & Design
We begin by assessing the site, understanding the client's requirements and developing the pond around the available space, aesthetics and technical requirements.

2. EXCAVATION & SITE PREPARATION
The existing site is carefully excavated and prepared to establish the required footprint, depth and levels of the pond. This stage also allows for the structural requirements, plumbing and filtration systems to be incorporated into the construction from the outset.
3. STRUCTURAL CONSTRUCTION
The pond structure is excavated to the required shape, levels and specifications of the design.
Once the excavation is prepared, protective geotextile and the pond liner are carefully installed to form the watertight foundation. Rockwork is then progressively positioned within the pond, shaping the contours, edges and natural features of the finished design.
4. ROCKWORK & WATERFALL CONSTRUCTION
The waterfall is carefully constructed to create natural-looking rock formations and controlled water flow. Rocks are positioned and secured to establish the waterfall's structure, with attention given to the height, flow path and integration with the surrounding pond.
5. COMMISSIONING & COMPLETION
With construction complete, the pond and waterfall are commissioned and the finished system is checked to ensure water is circulating correctly and the water feature is performing as intended. The completed pond is then cleaned, detailed and prepared for handover to the client.
